Our Story
In 2018 a dear friend of ours asked us to develop a wing sauce recipe for submission at the largest wing festival in South Florida. We experimented with flavors from the Caribbean, such as mango and guava. After a few tweaks to our recipe, the Caribbean Heat Sauce was born. This was our first ever entry into a competition however, we were delighted to have been awarded the Best Sauce trophy. We incorporated our sauce into our local caterings and the feedback has been spectacular.
As we visited the local and national big box stores, we realized that there was little to no representation for the Hispanic pallet in the BBQ and rub sections. In 2021 we decided to begin the process of mass producing our sauces, seasonings, and rubs that we developed for our caterings.
We are Veteran & Minority owned!
We want the Abuelito's brand to leverage the influence of Hispanic culture on culinary tastes.
As Hispanics, we have fond memories of gatherings with our families and friends where the patriarchs showed their love by grilling up traditional meals. The vision for our brand is to tap into those memories by providing quality products that stimulate the consumer's senses of taste and smell that tend to help recall those memories.
